This Cookies & Tracking Policy explains how ShopMyNest LLC (“ShopMyNest,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies, similar web technologies, and secure mobile token storage when you use the ShopMyNest website at shopmynest.com and the ShopMyNest mobile app (together, the “Service”). It supplements the Privacy Policy, which describes what personal information we collect and how we handle it.
By continuing to use the Service, you consent to the technologies described here, subject to the choices in Section 5.
1. Technologies we use
1.1 Website
On the website we use small text files stored in your browser, together with related technologies such as pixels and local storage, to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. In this policy we call all of them “cookies.”
1.2 Mobile app
The ShopMyNest mobile app does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses secure token storage provided by iOS Keychain and Android Keystore to keep you signed in and to remember basic app preferences. The app also relies on standard device identifiers and diagnostic data described in the Privacy Policy. The permissions the app asks for (photo library, camera, network, notifications) are listed in the Privacy Policy.
2. Categories of use
We group the cookies and similar technologies we use into four categories.
| Category | What it does | Examples | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary / authentication | Keeps you signed in, keeps the shopping cart working, and secures the checkout. Without these the Service can’t function. | WordPress login cookies (wordpress_logged_in_, wordpress_sec_), WooCommerce session cookie (wp_woocommerce_session_*), CSRF/nonce cookies. | No — turning these off will break sign-in and checkout. |
| Account & preferences | Remembers non-essential choices such as your cart contents between sessions, recently viewed items, and interface preferences. | WooCommerce cart cookies (woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart), preference cookies set by ShopMyNest. | Yes, through your browser controls. |
| Performance & analytics | Helps us understand aggregate use of the Service so we can improve it — which pages are viewed, which searches are run, and where errors occur. | May include Google Analytics or an equivalent first-party analytics tool (_ga, _ga_*, _gid). | Yes — see Section 5. |
| Security & fraud | Helps us detect abusive traffic, protect accounts, and prevent fraudulent orders. | Rate-limit and bot-detection cookies, Stripe fraud-scoring signals loaded on the checkout page. | Limited — some are required for a secure checkout. |
3. Specific cookies you may see
The exact list of cookies set on your device depends on which parts of the Service you use and whether you’re signed in. Common examples include:
- Session and authentication cookies set by WordPress to keep you signed in (
wordpress_logged_in_,wordpress_sec_,wp-settings-*). - Cart cookies set by WooCommerce to remember what’s in your cart (
woocommerce_cart_hash,woocommerce_items_in_cart,wp_woocommerce_session_*). - WordPress admin cookies set only for signed-in staff and Sellers who access the admin area.
- Checkout cookies set by Stripe on the checkout page to process payments and screen for fraud.
- Analytics cookies that may include Google Analytics or an equivalent tool (
_ga,_ga_*,_gid) to help us understand aggregate use of the site.
We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell personal information for money (see Privacy Policy).
4. How long cookies stay on your device
Cookies are either “session” cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which stay on your device until they expire or you delete them. Login and session cookies typically expire within days; preference and analytics cookies may persist for months. You can delete any cookie at any time through your browser.
5. How to manage cookies
5.1 Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies. Check your browser’s help pages:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari — Settings → Privacy.
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in and checkout from working.
5.2 Opt out of analytics
If we use Google Analytics, you can opt out site-wide with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also block analytics cookies through your browser’s cookie controls.
5.3 Do Not Track
ShopMyNest honors the “Do Not Track” (DNT) browser signal to the extent our analytics vendor supports it. If DNT is on, we ask our analytics tools not to record your visit.
5.4 Global Privacy Control
Where required by law, ShopMyNest treats a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid opt-out of any “sharing” of personal information as defined by applicable state privacy laws.
5.5 Mobile app
The mobile app doesn’t use browser cookies, so browser cookie controls don’t apply. To reset stored tokens and preferences in the app, sign out from the account screen or reinstall the app. You can manage app permissions (camera, photos, notifications) in your device settings.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies & Tracking Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
